Automotive Control Systems have two basic types of CANbus Interfaces. These units comply with either SAE J1939 or SAE J1708 specifications.

In general the J1708 unit is utilised on vehicles designed in the USA whilst the J1939 is suitable for European vehicles. Due to vehicle manufacturers restrictions the CANbus Interface features can vary, however, the following features serve as a guideline of availability:
