Speedometer Mounting
To install a Metron transducer on the speedometer it is necessary to gain access to the rear of the speedometer. This may require some dismantling of the vehicles dash board and should be undertaken only by personnel familiar with vehicle systems.

- Select the correct Metron transducer from the application list or by comparison of the speedometer fitting and speedometer cable end.
- Remove drive cable from speedometer.
- Install the correct Metron transducer, ensuring that the drive pin is the correct size and is aligned before pushing the transducer too far onto the speedometer fitting.
- Refit the drive cable onto the transducer, again ensure that the drive pin is aligned.
- If possible, remove the drive cable from the gearbox end and rotate the drive pin between the fingers. The speedometer needle should move slightly.
- Reassemble the dashboard making sure that the transducer is not forced out of alignment.
- Any flicker or jerky movement of the speedometer needle when the vehicle is being driven indicates a faulty installation and should be investigated immediately.
When using a Metron transducer that has drive cable attached, please refer to the relevant section in our application notes.
